Bushfire update

4 January 2020

CMS Summer School will start tonight as normal unless RFS advises to the contrary. We have consulted this morning with the Blue Mountains RFS, and they have confirmed that at 10.00hrs there is no specific fire threat in the area.

While there is no official travel advisory against using the Great Western Highway, Summer School attendees should monitor the RFS fire update website and Live Traffic website, for further information.

The Bible talks from Saturday night and Sunday morning will be available online tomorrow if you are unable to attend the start of Summer School.

3 January 2020

The CMS Summer School team has been hard at work today, setting up and getting ready for a great week ahead!

Please be advised that Summer School will proceed as planned.

CMS continues to be in regular, ongoing communication with RFS. We have a comprehensive fire risk and emergency action plan and will continue to receive guidance from the RFS during Summer School.

Please continue to pray with us for the bushfires across our nation, that God would bring relieving rain and rest for our firefighters.

31 December 2019

CMS senior staff have reviewed the situation in Katoomba and the advice we have received from the RFS.

Attendees should monitor the RFS website for further information on any fires. Any further updates regarding CMS Summer School will be posted on this page.

23 December 2019

CMS NSW & ACT has a comprehensive fire risk plan, and emergency action plan and is liaising closely with the RFS and police.

Please be advised that CMS Summer School is proceeding unless and until we receive advice to the contrary.

If Summer School is suspended or closed we will advise on our web site at nswsummerschool.org.au/fire-update and contact everyone who has registered for Summer School via SMS and email to the booking contact.
